Happy New Year and Welcome!

Happy New Year!

As President of Charlotte Area Association of Black Journalists, I’m proud to represent our organization. CAABJ has a long tradition of expanding and creating balance in the media’s coverage of the black community, promoting professional development, establishing and maintaining dialogue with media management to developed equal opportunities for black journalists. It’s my honor and my pleasure to continue the great work of CAABJ.
To our outgoing President, Ken Lemon, his Executive Board, I thank you for your awesome and outstanding dedication to those who work in the media. You’ve provided a platform of awareness in which we will continue in the next term. I will strive to continue your high caliber of work for our beloved organization – Thank You!
This year’s executive board is on fire for CAABJ. We’ve planned various events for the coming year. We feel you will find them enlightening, engaging and very interesting. Our first General Body meeting will be Saturday, January 18th at Loco Lime (1101 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC) at 11:00am.
We, the new executive board and I are tickled to death in meeting our community visitors, new members and embracing our season members. I can’t wait to meet and greet each and every one of you.

Until then, Cheers!
Alexis Mitchell
