The Eighth Annual Secrets to Accessing the Media Workshop, presented by the Charlotte Area Association of Black Journalists, takes place Saturday, October 19, 10 a.m. at Levine Museum of the New South. As always, the event is free and open to the public.

Bowling With The Journalists - September 27

CAABJ presents our annual Bowling With The Journalists event on Friday, September 27, 7:30 p.m. at AMF University Lanes. It's a lot of fun each year, and serves as a fundraiser for our college scholarship. Some of the top names in print, TV, radio, and online networks have already confirmed their participation.

Members of media and the general public are invited to come out, mix and mingle, bowl, and have fun in support of a great cause. Admission is $20, which includes bowling and shoes. Celebrate Our New NABJ VP

We are proud to celebrate the recent election of Dedrick Russell as the newly elected Vice President of Broadcast for The National Association of Black Journalists.  Dedrick is a former two term president of the Charlotte Area Association of Black Journalists.  He recently as NABJ Region III Director providing leadership for local chapters in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.  Dedrick is also the education reporter for WBTV.

We will be at Osso Restaurant at the NC Music Factory on Sept. 12th at 7:30pm.  Join us to congratulate Dedrick, learn more about upcoming events, and find out how you can become a member.
   

2013 Secrets to Accessing the Media Workshop - October 19

Charlotte Area Association of Black Journalists presents our annual Secrets to Accessing the Media Workshop Saturday, October 19 at Levine Museum of the New South.


Community members, activists, entrepreneurs and organizations can talk to and learn from members of the media at this information-packed event. Respected journalists from Charlotte newspapers, magazines, TV, radio stations, and Internet outlets will offer tips and advice on how to get stories told. They will also explain how news at individual media outlets is produced and answer questions from the audience.

Members and staffs of nonprofit organizations, HOA’s, community groups, small businesses, and more are encouraged to attend this FREE event.
